Department Of Labor Issues Rule On Association Health Plans

(June 2018) The Department of Labor has issued its plan regarding association health plans (AHPs), whose aim is to make health insurance policies more affordable for small businesses. The AHP rule allows small businesses and the self employed to band together based on their industry or location to buy health insurance. Like health insurance plans for large employers, these plans will be customizable for small business needs, also allowing them to reduce administrative costs and use greater economies of scale.
