Energenics Celebrates 25 Years with TCATA

(June, 2026) TCATA is proud to recognize Energenics as it celebrates 25 years of membership in the association. For over 50 years, Energenics has been a valued partner to the textile care industry, providing innovative solutions that help laundries improve efficiency, safety, and sustainability.

Founded in 1974 by Jack Haried in Aurora, Illinois, Energenics began as a manufacturer of heat recirculation equipment for commercial laundries. As industry needs evolved, the company successfully adapted its focus to dryer lint filtration technology, laying the foundation for continued growth and innovation. The company later relocated to Naples, Florida, where it continues operations today.

A significant milestone came in 1992 when John Hutterly acquired the company and expanded its product offerings through the introduction of new technologies, including quaternary chemical Kartwash systems. Under his leadership, Energenics continued to evolve alongside the industry, developing solutions designed to address the changing needs of laundry operators.

Today, Energenics serves more than 5,000 laundries worldwide with a diverse portfolio of products focused on operational performance, workplace safety, and environmental responsibility. Its offerings include industrial and on-premises laundry dryer lint filtration and airflow systems, UV-C and chemical Kartwash systems, hypochlorous acid disinfection technology, mobile UV-C surface disinfection units, and lint scrubbers that help reduce airborne contaminants.

In recent years, the company has emerged as a leader in laundry cart disinfection for healthcare facilities through the development of advanced hypochlorous acid and UV-C technologies capable of eliminating 99.99 percent of viruses and bacteria. These innovations reflect Energenics' ongoing commitment to addressing real-world challenges faced by laundry operators.

The company also takes pride in its strong employee retention and culture of promoting from within. Tim Sulecki, who has been with Energenics for 20 years, assumed the role of President while John Hutterly continues to serve as CEO. The leadership team has been further strengthened by the promotion of Ingrid Naranjo to Vice President of Operations, as well as the addition of new sales team members bringing expertise from engineering, healthcare, and marketing backgrounds.

To support continued growth, Energenics has expanded its manufacturing and office facilities, increasing production capacity by 40 percent. With a forward-looking leadership team and a strong focus on innovation, the company remains well positioned to meet the evolving needs of the laundry industry for years to come.

TCATA congratulates Energenics on 25 years of membership and thanks the company for its longstanding support of the association and its continued contributions to the textile care industry.
