President's Report 2026

(January, 2026) It has been an honor to serve as President of the Textile Care Allied Trades Association during a year marked by both challenge and opportunity for our industry. Throughout this past year, TCATA has continued to demonstrate the strength, resilience, and innovation that define the allied trades supporting textile care professionals across North America.

Our industry continues to evolve. From ongoing labor pressures and supply chain adjustments to sustainability expectations and technological advancements, change has become a constant. In this environment, TCATA has remained focused on its mission: to support, advocate for, and advance the interests of allied trade members while strengthening collaboration across the textile care industry.

Key Milestones and Achievements

This year, TCATA reached several important milestones that reinforce the value of allied trades within the industry:

  • Renewal of a Critical ANSI Standard: One of the most significant accomplishments this year was TCATA’s involvement in the renewal of an important ANSI standard impacting the textile care industry. This effort helped ensure that industry practices remain current, relevant, and aligned with today’s operational, safety, and quality expectations. The renewal process highlighted the essential role allied trades play in maintaining standards that support both suppliers and operators.
  • Strengthened Industry Collaboration: TCATA expanded its engagement with partner associations and industry stakeholders, ensuring allied trade representation in key discussions affecting textile care operations, standards, and long-term industry direction.
  • Enhanced Member Engagement: We experienced increased participation in TCATA meetings, events, and committees, reflecting a strong commitment from members to actively contribute to the association’s work and strategic priorities.
  • Support of Education and Research Initiatives: TCATA continued to support education, training, and research initiatives that advance innovation, efficiency, and safety across the textile care industry.
  • Expanded Networking Opportunities: Through conferences, forums, and joint events, TCATA facilitated meaningful connections between allied trades and textile care operators, reinforcing our role as trusted, long-term partners.

Leadership and Volunteer Commitment

These accomplishments would not have been possible without the dedication of our board members, staff, and volunteers. Their leadership, expertise, and commitment continue to be the foundation of TCATA’s success. Active member involvement remains one of our greatest strengths.

Looking Ahead

As we move forward, TCATA is well-positioned to build on this momentum. By continuing to invest in standards development, foster collaboration, support innovation, and advocate for the allied trades, we will remain a vital contributor to a strong and sustainable textile care industry.

Thank you to our members for your continued support and engagement, and to our industry partners for your collaboration and trust. I look forward to the opportunities ahead and to continuing our work together in the coming year and I hope to see everyone in August in Asheville, NC at the annual conference.

Respectfully,

Mack Magnus, President- M & B Hangers
