(February, 2026) TCATA joined fellow industry partners in Washington, D.C., for the 16th Annual Legislative Conference hosted by TRSA. As part of the second annual Laundry Hill Day, 130 industry leaders participated including 80 advocates who met directly with lawmakers on Capitol Hill, conducting 110 meetings with members of Congress and key staff.
Together, the industry spoke with one unified voice on two key priorities impacting linen, uniform and facility services providers nationwide.
Advancing Reusable Healthcare Textiles
Participants urged lawmakers to press for the release of a long-awaited federal study evaluating the benefits of reusable healthcare textiles. Conducted by the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health in collaboration with the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering and Medicine, the study examines how expanded use of reusable textiles can strengthen emergency preparedness, reduce reliance on foreign-sourced disposable PPE and lower healthcare costs.
Attendees encouraged legislators to support immediate release of the report so policymakers can make informed decisions grounded in science and data.
Supporting Investment Through QPP Tax Classification
Industry leaders also advocated for linen and uniform laundries to be recognized under H.R. 1’s “substantial transformation” standard, enabling qualification for 100% bonus depreciation on production-related capital investments.
Industrial laundries perform complex mechanical, chemical and thermal processes that transform unusable textiles into hygienically clean, certified reusable products, operations that mirror manufacturing and support critical infrastructure sectors such as healthcare and public safety.
Stronger Together
In addition to TCATA, participating organizations included the Association for Linen Management (ALM), American Reusable Textile Association (ARTA), CSC Network and the Independent Textile Rental Association (ITRA).
Laundry Hill Day reflects the power of coordinated advocacy. When our industry aligns around shared priorities, we amplify our impact, supporting sustainability, economic growth and the essential services TCATA members provide every day.
