Edro Corp Supports USNS Comfort

(May, 2020) When the Military Sealift Command hospital ship USNS Comfort arrived at New York City Harbor’s Pier 90 on March 30th, hundreds of people momentarily forgot about social distancing and stood shoulder-to-shoulder to witness its arrival.

One area of military vessels that people don't give much thought is the all-important laundry room. Have you ever taken a moment to consider how the ship’s crew launders bed linens, or PPE equipment such as scrubs and facemasks? Probably not, but the EDRO Corporation is doing just that every day in East Berlin, Connecticut.

Driving the Comfort’s laundry room are four 150 lb and two 60 lb washer-extractors, partnered with five 110 lb and two 75 lb tumbler dryers manufactured by the EDRO Corporation.
