Girbau Celebrates 105 Years

(June, 2025) Girbau marked its 105th anniversary with a memorable celebration at its headquarters in Vic, Spain—about 50 miles north of Barcelona. Founded in 1920 as a small electromechanical workshop, Girbau has grown into a global leader in commercial laundry solutions. The anniversary event brought together the entire headquarters team, their families, and presidents of the company’s 16 international subsidiaries to honor this impressive milestone.

A special highlight came from world champion chocolatier Lluc Crusellas, who sent his congratulations along with a custom-designed anniversary cake. The program also featured reflections on Girbau’s evolution—from its roots in Vic to its position as a respected global brand. Mike Floyd received special recognition for his more than 30 years of leadership and partnership with Girbau North America.

As part of its ongoing anniversary celebrations, Girbau will host commemorative events throughout the year. These include a symbolic tree planting at headquarters in memory of Pere Girbau, a pivotal figure in the company’s second generation, as well as local events at each international subsidiary to mark the occasion in their own unique ways.

Continental Girbau West (CG West) of Santa Fe Springs, CA has appointed Lenin Vasquez Rueda as its new OPL & Industrial Laundry Sales Manager. Rueda will lead sales efforts in his territory while also supporting inventory management, market strategy, and client development.

With over 15 years of experience in sales and account management, Rueda brings a strong background from companies such as Andersen by Anderson and Giant RV. He holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration from California State University.
